Besides wine, our commercial farm produces Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Olives and other typical Veronese products such as grappa, honey, and many others….
In fact, several other things are grown around the vineyards: there are orchards on the ridge of the hill of Torricelle di Verona where we pick fresh fruit from the conversion to organic farming for the agritourism guests or that we use to make delicious jams and mustard.
There are also beehives in the vegetable gardens where we grow vegetables near the vineyard and orchards which produce very sweet wild honey for us, we breed and rear animals, and a large chicken run produces hen and goose eggs. There are thousands of ancient olive trees on the terraced hillside supported by ancient stone walls from San Matteo to the first houses in Verona in the bottom of the valley below.
The path along which the city centre can be reached on foot in 29 minutes wends its way through this olive grove. All of the commercial farm provides local produce that is mainly used in family recipes to cook the delicious tasty meals and snacks served by Agriturismo San Matteo.
